It's trivial for any IT Department thats worth its salt to keep their
computers Virus Free.
1. Get a Site License for a Quality AntiVirus Program.
Configure all computers to check for updates on powerup.
2. Have a "PatchMaster" make sure all Servers are protected,
and have their own AntiVirus.
3. Anytime any IT person "touches" any PC, make sure its
AntiVirus software is current and functional before anything else is
checked.
Obviously one or more of those basic points wasnt observed, and they
failed to use "Best Practices"
The Head of IT needs to be FIRED !! for costing the City so much.
